Engine ticking at idle and acceleration

Though no external engine idle speed adjustments are possible, many things can and do cause problems. Should the speed of the engine idle need adjustment, we do it by diagnosing and correcting the things that cause it to be incorrect.I noticed a faint rattling/clicking sound from the engine bay a couple days ago at idle/sitting at red lights.
